Community Creations

We've built Ruck Customs to be a place where smaller creators have the opportunity to reach larger audiences.  In 2019 we offered our store space to smaller vendors including Bob's Patch Co. and Sew Strong to allow them to reach larger audiences with their products.  While we will continue to reach out to smaller vendors like these, there are still a host of creative ideas out there that need a little help to get off the ground.

In 2020 we are introducing Community Creations, a reoccurring design contest where community members will pick what they want to see created.  Creators can submit their ideas and we will select our favorites to be voted on.  We'll back the production costs for the winning design and list the product as a featured offering in the store.

Interested? Here are the specifics.

We will announce each design competition on the website, our Facebook page, and through the r/Goruck subreddit.  We will accept entries through the listed time window.  All entries must be emailed in to scott@ruckcustoms.com.  At the close of the submission window, we will pick out our favorites and open up a community poll.  The submission with the most votes at the end of the polling window will be declared the winner and we will fund the manufacturing of an initial run of the design.  The exact terms of this will vary based on the specific product.  The first couple iterations of this contest will be exclusively patch design for which we will fund up to $200 for an initial run.

Once the product is made, we will list the product in our store under a featured "Community Creations" section.  The creator will have control over pricing, copy writing, images, and formatting for this product page.  Products sold through our store will be subject to a 10% processing fee to offset the costs on our end.  The creator will be responsible for filling these orders, though we are able to help with that if desired.  The creator will maintain full ownership of the product and the design unless otherwise negotiated after the fact.

All of this is subject to change based on how things end up running.
